This salinity meter adopts a unique continuous flow system, which allows the sample water to flow out of the original sample bottle under low-pressure conditions. A high stability temperature controlled tank and heat exchanger can accurately maintain the sample at the set temperature during analysis without the need for temperature compensation. By improving the temperature stability of the temperature control tank, the accuracy can be better than 0.002 equivalent practical salinity units (PSU)

Compared with traditional salinometer methods that require several different amounts of samples for flushing and measurement, the unique continuous sample flow system has significant improvements in speed and convenience.

Only 50 milliliters of sample water is needed to obtain the final reading, including rinsing. The semi-automatic operation can provide conductivity readings within 1 minute, with a resolution better than 0.0002 equivalent PSUs.

8400B has a redesigned sample bottle holder that allows for easy assembly of the original sample bottle. Equipped with a built-in water bottle data recording device as standard, it can provide conductivity, bottle number, sink temperature, and standardized reference value output. The temperature of the sink can be selected between 18 ℃ and 33 ℃, with a step size of 3 ℃. The measured water flowing through the conductive unit can be observed through a window. Operation control includes: selection of conductivity range; Function switch for displaying zero reference, standby, or reading; Water tank temperature control detection, standardized seawater setting, constant temperature bath discharge and filling control, as well as sample flow rate control, can immediately measure deep cold water. 8400B is a laboratory salinity meter with many improved designs and layouts. Special attention has been paid to improving the power supply with good input filtering and a new cable harness. To open the front door for maintenance, there is a heater malfunction light on the front panel and an internal hose on the sub panel to reduce wear and tear.
